Liisa Ladouceur writes about music, culture and travel, and is the author of Encyclopedia Gothica (2011, ECW Press) and How to Kill a Vampire: Fangs in Folklore, Film and Fiction (2013, ECW Press).

She regularly appears on radio and TV to talk about music and the arts and has hosted events for festivals such as Luminato and the Eden Mills’ Writers Festival. She was a keynote speaker for the Popular Culture Association of Canada’s annual conference and has lectured on Goth music and culture for the Toronto library and others. Liisa started all this with a community TV show in high school and a DIY zine in university, and has since been widely published.


Liisa is the creator of the viral fashion video series 40 Years of Goth Style, which has more than 7.5 million YouTube views.

In 2020 she launched Liisa Wanders, a travel blog of lessons learned while seeing the world.

 

Her first book of poetry, On Tenterhooks, was published in 2008, and she has performed spoken word across North America. She is currently a retired poet and an amateur stand-up comic.

She lives in Toronto with a black cat.
